Major General T.A. Peiris ptsc was invited to the Office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, along with his family members on 30 May 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after completing a distinguished career spanning 34 years.
Brief Profile of the Retiring Senior Officer:
Major General T.A. Peiris ptsc enlisted in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army into the Intake KDA 8 as an Officer Cadet on 03 November 1990. Upon successful completion of military training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy and the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, he was commissioned in the rank of Second Lieutenant and posted to the Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers on 14 November 1992. Over the course of his service, he was steadily promoted through subsequent ranks and attained the rank of Major General on 23 February 2024.
The Senior Officer will retire from the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army with effect from 03 June 2025, upon reaching 55 years of age. At the time of his retirement, he was serving as the Logistics Commander, Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers.

The Senior Officer holds a Bachelor of Science (Defence Studies) in Mechanical Engineering from the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy and a Master of Science (Military Technology) from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India.
