The 75th Anniversary History Book - Third Volume of the 1st Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) was ceremonially launched on 21 May 2025 at the Regimental Centre of SLLI.
Major General K.P Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) WWV RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Deputy Minister of Defence, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, also attended the event as a special guest.
The ceremony commenced with the opening remarks by Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel of the Regiment of SLLI. General S.H.S Kottegoda (Retd) WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc, a former Commander of the Army, delivered the keynote address.
Copies of the commemorative book were presented to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The e-version was officially launched on the Ministry of Defence, Sri Lanka Army, and SLLI websites by the respective dignitaries.
