The United Nations Staff Officers’ Course (UNSOC) No - 04, sponsored by the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI), was conducted from 11 August to 27 August 2025 at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL).
The closing ceremony of the course was held on 27 August 2025. The course comprised of 26 foreign and local Tri-Services Student Officers, including 17 Officers from the Sri Lanka Army, 3 Officers from the Sri Lanka Navy, 3 Officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force and 3 foreign Officers from Indonesia and Mongolia.
The panel consisted of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the GPOI organisation. Mr. Alex Lee from Singapore facilitated the course as the Team Leader, while Mr. Stein Ellingsen from Norway and Mr. Harley Alves from Brazil served as other SMEs.
Major General P.R. Pathiravithana USAWC psc, the Director General General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and awarded certificates to the participants. The Overlooking Commandant of the IPSOTSL, together with Senior Officers, Officers and Instructors of IPSOTSL, participated in the event.
