Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, the 7th Commander of 1 Corps, relinquished his duties on 03 August 2025 during a formal military ceremony held at Headquarters 1 Corps, Kilinochchi.
Upon arrival, the outgoing Commander of 1 Corps was accorded a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour presented by the troops of the 3rd Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment.
Adding memories to the day, the outgoing Commander posed for a group photograph, addressed the troops and attended the All-Ranks tea. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended the day’s formalities.
