St. Thomas’ Church, Kotte, Holds Special Mass to Bless the Sri Lanka Army on its 76th Anniversary

St. Thomas’ Church, Kotte, hosted a special Mass presided by His Lordship Anton Ranjith, Bishop of the Archdiocese of Colombo, together with several other prominent clerics. During the event, blessings were invoked on the forthcoming 76th Army Anniversary (10 October) as part of the ongoing multi-religious observances on 01 October 2025.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest together with Mrs Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, at the invitation of the Army Christian Fellowship.

The Secretary of the Army Christian Fellowship delivered the welcome address and explained the theme of the event to the congregation. A solemn moment of remembrance for the fallen War Heroes was also observed, led by Reverend Father Niroshan De Mel of the Lanka Baptist Church.

Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Brigadier B.A.D.R.A.C. Wijeyesekera RSP ctf-ndu USACGSC, Secretary of the Army Christian Fellowship, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and a large number of clerics participated in the event.
