The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers marked its 74th Anniversary from 7–14 November 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Panagoda and Home of Sappers, Mattegoda through a series of commemorative, religious and ceremonial events.
The celebrations commenced with a solemn tribute to 655 fallen sapper war heroes at the Regimental War Heroes Monument, attended by Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, together with senior officers and members of the corps.
Cultural and religious observances followed, including a traditional perahera and a pirith chanting ceremony followed by almsgiving ceremony.
On the anniversary day, the Colonel Commandant was accorded a guard turnout and a ceremonial parade, followed by a troops’ address. An all-ranks lunch, an officers’ get-together, a Warrant Officers' and Sergeants’ Mess dinner night and an all-ranks get-together were held in line with the celebrations.
