Sri Lanka Army athletes who represented the country at the 2025 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships returned to the island via Bandaranaike International Airport, where they were warmly welcomed by the Team Manager, Coach, and fellow members.
The Championships (Senior/Junior/Youth) were held from 24 to 28 August 2025 in Ahmedabad, India. Adding to the pride of the Army, Sergeant Y.D.I. Kumara of 2 Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps secured the Bronze Medal in the 60 kg Weight Category.
