The Sri Lanka Army formally launched the electronic version of the Sri Lanka Army Code of Conduct at a programme held at the Multifunctional Hall, Army Headquarters on 31 December 2025. The event was organised by the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) as part of the Army’s continuing efforts to strengthen institutional integrity, ethical discipline, and professional accountability across all ranks.
Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army graced the event as the chief guest. The event commenced with an outline of the purpose and significance of the programme, emphasising that the Code of Conduct serves as a foundational guide for all members of the Sri Lanka Army, while the electronic format ensures wider accessibility and effective dissemination in the organization, including personnel participating through online platforms.
A comprehensive presentation was then delivered on the role and responsibilities of the Internal Affairs Unit and the institutional relevance of the Code of Conduct. The central feature of the programme was the official launch of the electronic copy of the Code of Conduct, marking a significant milestone in the Sri Lanka Army’s governance and reform initiatives.
Following the launch, the Commander of the Army addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of personal responsibility and leadership by example in upholding the values enshrined in the Code of Conduct. He emphasised that ethical conduct extends beyond mere compliance and remains fundamental to maintaining public trust, operational credibility and the long term institutional strength of the Sri Lanka Army.
Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, Head of the Internal Affairs Unit and Chief of Staff, senior officers, officers and other ranks participated in the event.
