SLMA Holds Diploma Awarding Ceremony – 2025

The Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) ceremoniously held its Diploma Awarding Ceremony – 2025 on 05 August 2025 at the Sino–Lanka Auditorium, Diyatalawa. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Upon his arrival, the Chief Guest was warmly received by Major General M.J.R.S. Medagoda RSP USP ndc psc IG, Commandant of the SLMA, together with Rear Admiral H.G.U. Dammika Kumara VSV USP psc MMaritimePol BSc (DS), Vice Chancellor of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.

The day’s proceedings commenced with the unveiling of the “Wall of the Braves”, a tribute to the gallant Parama Weera Vibhushanaya (PWV) recipients whose heroic acts continue to inspire future generations of Officers.

During the ceremony, diplomas were awarded to Officer Cadets from several intakes, including Intake 90, 59 (V), Lady 17, Lady 16 (V), Lady 18, 18A, 60 (V), Lady 17 (V), Lady 19, SC 19, 18 A, 61 (V), 61 A (V), and Lady 18 (V), marking a significant milestone in their academic and military careers.

Addressing the distinguished gathering, the Chief Guest congratulated the diploma recipients and emphasised the importance of academic excellence and military discipline in shaping effective leaders for the future.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Commandant of SLMA, followed by a group photograph and the exchange of mementoes to mark the significance of the day. Before his departure, the Commander of the Army penned complimentary remarks in the visitors’ book.
