The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) proudly celebrated its 144th Anniversary on 01 April 2025 amidst religious and military formalities under the guidance of Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc, Commandant of the SLAVF.
Upon arrival, the Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by the troops of the Sri Lanka National Guard. Later, he attended an All-Ranks lunch and addressed the troops of the SLAVF.
On 24 March 2025, a special mass was conducted by the Reverend Parish Priest at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hanwella, followed by a special prayer session conducted by the Chief Moulavi at Jumma Masjid Mosque, Hanwella, in the evening.
On 27 March 2025, a pirith chanting ceremony, followed by an alms-giving to the Maha Sangha, was held.
In line with the celebrations, a cleaning initiative was conducted at Sanda Sevana Elders' Home on 25 March 2025 and lunch was provided to the residents of the Elders' Home on 26 March 2025. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the anniversary formalities.
