SLACAL Marks Its 5th Anniversary

The Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL) celebrated its 5th Anniversary at the Regimental Centre, Karandeniya, on 04 January 2026.

Major General K.D.M.L. Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc, Director General of Finance Management and Colonel Commandant of SLACAL, was accorded a guard turnout and ceremonial parade. He addressed the troops and posed for a group photograph. The celebrations concluded with an All Ranks lunch, presentation of the Colonel Commandant’s Challenge Trophies to the best-performing cricket team of the Inter-Battalion Cricket Tournament, and a musical programme.

In parallel, a dry ration packs distribution valued over Rs. 8,000 was conducted on 03 January 2026 under the guidance of Mrs. Nilangani Samaradiwakara, Chairperson of the SLACAL Seva Vanitha Branch, for personnel affected by the Ditwa Cyclone.

All night pirith chanting ceremony followed by almsgiving to the Maha Sangha, invoking blessings for all officers and other ranks of SLACAL was also held on 02 January 2026.
