In line with the "Clean Sri Lanka" National Programme, battalions under command to the 55 Infantry Division organized a series of community-focused initiatives on 04 July 2025.
Troops of the 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 14 Sri Lanka National Guard conducted the programmes under the theme “Shrama Operation.” Activities included awareness lectures on the national initiative, tree-planting campaigns and comprehensive area-cleaning efforts.
These programmes were carried out at multiple locations, including the District Vocational Training Centre – Kilinochchi, Vocational Training Centre – Kilinochchi, National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority – Kilinochchi, Sri Lanka – German Training Institute, Kilinochchi, Vocational Training Centre – Pooneryn and Vocational Training Centre – Dharmapuram.
A total of 885 Army personnel, 53 teachers, 493 studentsand 52 area residents actively participated in these initiatives.
