A two-day workshop on ‘Military in Internal Security Operations’ (MISO) concluded successfully at the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) on 02 July 2025.
This programme was organised under the direction of the Directorate of Legal Services, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), with the aim of enhancing decision-making capabilities of Officers in law enforcement contexts, focusing on the use of force, firearms, arrest, and detention.
The sessions were conducted by Brigadier General (Retired) Lloyd Gillett OBE, Regional Delegate to the Armed Forces of South Asia (ICRC), along with Mr. Channa Jayawardana, Armed and Security Programme Advisor (Sri Lanka) at the ICRC.
Senior Officers and Officers participated in the workshop.
