Russian–Sri Lankan Joint Military Exercise “Wolverine Path 2025” Commences

The inaugural Russian–Sri Lankan bilateral military exercise “Wolverine Path 2025” is scheduled to take place from 25 October to 04 November 2025 at the Army Training School (ATS), Maduruoya. This tactical counter-terrorist exercise marks the first-ever joint field training collaboration between the Sri Lanka Army and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The troops were warmly received by Major General K.J.N.M.P.K. Nawarathna RWP RSP ndu, Director General Infantry, together with Major General W.M.N.K.D. Bandara RWP RSP USP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding, 12 Infantry Division and Major General S.A.U.A. Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc, the Exercise Director on 24 October 2025 at Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport[MRIA].

Representing the Russian Federation, Andrey Borisovich Kozlov, arrived as the Head of the Delegation and will lead the Russian contingent throughout the joint training programme.

The “Wolverine Path 2025” exercise is designed to enhance military cooperation, strengthen professional bonds and develop joint counter-terrorism capabilities between the two nations through a series of field training drills, tactical simulations and interoperability exercises.
