New Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Assumes Duties

Brigadier K.M.G Bandaranayake USP ndc psc assumed office as the 19th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps on 01 December 2025 at the SLSC Regimental Centre.

The day commenced with a warm welcome from Centre Commandant, Brigadier R.C. Wijekoon USP psc and a Guard Turnout accorded at the entrance.

The Colonel Commandant SLSC then paid tribute to fallen War Heroes by laying a floral wreath at the monument.Following this, he received the salute during a ceremonial parade at the Regimental Centre parade ground and then he posed for a group photograph with the officers, marking the occasion.

Assuming the formal duties of his office, he placed his signature on an official document amidst religious observances. After assuming duties, the Colonel Commandant marked the moment with planting a symbolic sapling, reflecting growth, renewal and a vibrant new beginning.

Subsequently, traditional tea was hosted for all ranks, providing an opportunity for informal interaction. Later, addressing all ranks, he emphasised his vision in line with the vision of the Commander of the Army, setting the stage for continued excellence of Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Signal Corps.

The Colonel Commandant SLSC then addressed all officers, including COs and council members, at the conference hall.

The day's proceedings concluded with a staff lunch at the Regimental Officers’ Mess.
