Indian Army Medical Contingent Arrives in Sri Lanka to Support Adverse Weather Relief Efforts

An Indian Army delegation comprising 73 personnel from the Para Field Hospital of Indian Army, equipped with a fully functional field hospital, arrived in Sri Lanka on 02 December 2025 to assist communities affected by the prevailing adverse weather conditions.

The contingent will be deployed in the Mahiyanganaya area, where they will provide essential medical treatment, emergency care, and other humanitarian support to residents impacted by flooding and related disasters. Their field hospital is expected to significantly enhance medical response capacity in the region during this critical period.

Major General K.T.P De Silva RSP ndu psc, Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and Lieutenant Colonel Mandeep Singh Negi, Assistant Defence Advisor, High Commission of India warmly welcomed the contingent upon their arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport.

The deployment of the Indian Army Medical Corps contingent marks another milestone in the regional partnership between Sri Lanka and India.
