An awareness lecture programme on the prevention of non-communicable diseases was conducted by the Healthy Army – Healthy Nation Coordination Office for the Officer Cadets of the Sri Lanka Military Academy on 25 February 2026 at the Academy Auditorium, Diyatalawa.
During the awareness programme, Brigadier A.S.M. Wijewardena (Retd) USP, Senior Consultant Physician delivered a lecture on “Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases”. Brigadier R.M.M. Monaragala USP, Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, conducted a session on eliminating harmful habits and cultivating positive lifestyles.
Major P.A.S.D. Jothipala, Consultant community physician, addressed health promotion strategies for preventing non-communicable diseases, while Major A.C.K. Udugama, Dietician and Nutritionist, delivered a session on food and nutrition. Additionally, Staff Sergeant T.M.G. Priyadarshana, Physical Training Instructor, introduced structured exercise programmes.
Senior Officers, Officers and Officer Cadets participated in the event.
