Major General W.S.V Fernando USP ndc IG assumed duties as the 21st General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 61 Infantry Division on 01 July 2025 at the Headquarters of 61 Infantry Division in Boossa amidst formal military traditions.
Marking the significance of the event, he planted a sapling, posed for a group photograph and attends troop address followed by an All Rank tea party. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
