The final planning conference for Exercise Mithra Shakti XI was successfully held from 30 July to 02 August 2025 in Belagavi, Karnataka, India. Brigadier D.S Jayawardana RSP ndc, the Director Infantry of the Sri Lanka Army, together with three Senior Officers, collaborated with Indian military officials to finalise operational details for the upcoming exercise, which included a field visit to the training areas.
The exercise, a key component of India–Sri Lanka defence cooperation, will focus on enhancing joint military capabilities, particularly in counter-terrorism operations and peacekeeping. Extensive discussions were conducted to ensure seamless coordination and effective execution.
At the conclusion of the conference, both parties exchanged mementoes as a gesture of friendship and mutual respect.
