Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery, undertook an official visit to the Army Ordnance Industries (AOI) on 13 May 2026.
Upon arrival, the Senior Officer was accorded a drive pass and warmly welcomed by the Commandant of AOI. A group photograph was thereafter taken with the Officers and Staff to mark the occasion.
The day’s programme commenced with a briefing delivered by the Commandant of AOI, highlighting the organisation’s technical capabilities, ongoing developmental initiatives, and notable achievements in enhancing the Army’s operational readiness. During the briefing, the Deputy Chief of Staff provided guidance on further expanding the production activities of Army Ordnance Industries in support of future operational requirements.
Subsequently, the Deputy Chief of Staff undertook an inspection tour at the production facilities. During the visit, the DCOS commended the dedication, professionalism and technical expertise maintained by AOI personnel in supporting the operational capabilities of the Sri Lanka Army.
