Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, made an official visit to the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 18 February 2026.
Upon arrival, he was warmly received by Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the SLAVF, along with Senior Officers. In accordance with military traditions, the Commander was accorded a drive past at the main entrance.
Subsequently, he ceremonially declared open the newly constructed fitness trail in the premises and the newly established Officers’ accommodation complex (Lake View). Afterwards, the Commander posed for a group photograph and planted a sapling in the premises. The Army Chief also conducted a field visit, reviewing key areas of the SLAVF.
The visit concluded with the signing of the visitors’ book. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the SLAVF were present at the occasion.
