Commander of the Army Visits Disabled War Heroes with Season’s Greetings

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, paid visits to Abhimansala 2 in Kamburupitiya, Ranaviru Sevana in Ragama and Mihindu Seth Medura in Attidiya in 23 December 2025, in keeping with the spirit of Christmas and goodwill.

Upon arrival at Abhimansala 2, Kamburupitiya, the Commander of the Army was accorded a drive pass and warmly welcomed by Brigadier R.G.L.K. Weerakoon RWP RSP, Director of the Directorate of Veterans’ Affairs and Rehabilitation, together with Brigadier G.G.R. Madhugoda USP, Commandant of Abhimansala 2.

Continuing his seasonal courtesy engagements, the Commander of the Army visited Ranaviru Sevana in Ragama where he was received by Brigadier G.R.S. Dharmarathne USP, Commandant of Ragama Ranaviru Sevana. Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Army and Major General R.P.S. Prasad RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division also attended the event.

Finally, the Commander of the Army proceeded to Mihindu Seth Medura in Attidiya, where he was welcomed by Brigadier P.D.N.I. Almeida RSP, Commandant of Mihindu Seth Medura. The Christmas message and blessings were delivered by Rt. Rev. Dr. Maxwell Silva, Auxiliary Bishop of the Colombo Archdiocese.
