The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, made an official visit to Navy Headquarters today (08 July 2025) and met the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda RSP USP ndc psc.
Upon his arrival, the Army Chief was honoured in a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions. Subsequently, the Commander of the Navy introduced the Navy’s senior leadership, including the Chief of Staff and members of the Board of Management, to the visiting Army Chief.
The two service commanders thereafter engaged in a comprehensive and constructive dialogue, focusing on operational cooperation and shared security objectives, particularly emphasising the significant contributions of both the Army and Navy to the nation's security framework.
This official visit symbolised the enduring strength and unity among Sri Lanka’s armed forces. The meeting concluded with a customary exchange of mementoes.
