Major General K.D.U. Karunaratna RSP USP received the symbol of authority and best wishes from Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, during a formal courtesy call held on 23 March 2026 at the Army Headquarters.
The Senior Officer was wounded in action on 09 January 1997 during the Paranthan attack by the LTTE. During the operation, he sustained severe injuries that left the lower part of his body paralysed.
In recognition of his dedicated and distinguished service to the nation, he has been officially promoted to the rank of Major General.
