Major General U.K.D.D.P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), visited the 2 (V) Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and the 11th (V) Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment from 4 to 5 May 2026.
In accordance with military customs, he was welcomed at both locations and paid tribute to fallen soldiers. During the visits, he planted saplings, inspected camp facilities and addressed troops.
In his address, the Commandant emphasised that discipline remains fundamental to the Army’s strength and public trust. He further highlighted the importance of knowledge development for future progress and advised personnel to follow proper channels in resolving personal matters.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the visit.
