Commandant of SLAVF Visits 1 SLAPC

Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), undertook an official field visit to the 1 Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps (1 SLAPC) at Palawaththa on 18 August 2025.

Upon arrival, he paid homage to the fallen war heroes’ monument and was accorded a Guard Turnout, followed by a briefing conducted by the Commanding Officer of 1 SLAPC on the current undertakings and operational activities of the battalion with future perspectives.

Later, the Commandant of SLAVF addressed the troops and emphasized the vital role of soldiers and the Army in supporting national efforts, highlighting the importance of upholding and strengthening the military stance. He further highlighted the significance of the Government-led “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative in promoting sustainability, ethics and dedicated service.

Afterwards, he planted a sapling in the camp premises, toured the camp area, and penned complimentary remarks in the visitors’ book. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
