Major General A.M.A Abeywardana WWV RWP RSP ndc assumed duties as the 26th Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch on 23 October 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Kuruwita.
He was accorded a guard turnout and a guard of honour. He later paid tribute at the fallen war heroes’ monument, attended an all-ranks tea and addressed the troops.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
