Chief of Staff Presides Second Board of Management Meeting at AWC

Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Chief of Staff (COS) presided the second Board of Management (BOM) meeting of the Army War College (AWC), Buttala, on 28 May 2025, marking his first official visit to the AWC following his recent appointment.

Upon arrival, he was accorded a drive pass at the entrance, followed by a warm welcome at the AWC Headquarters by the Commandant, Major General T.C.M.G.S.T Cooray RWP RSP USP ndc psc, along with the Deputy Commandant and the Chief Instructor.

The BOM convened with the participation of the Director General General Staff, Director Engineer Services and Senior Officers.

During the visit, a discussion was held with the AWC staff, exchanging views on training, administration, and logistics, while offering necessary guidance to enhance college operations. The COS also inspected the existing infrastructure and provided instructions for further improvement.

Additionally, the COS interacted with student officers of the Senior Command Course 14, Junior Command Course 33 and Junior Staff Course 29. He addressed the gathering at the Auditorium, sharing valuable insights and words of encouragement.

To mark the occasion, the Commandant of AWC presented a memento to the COS and the gesture was reciprocated.
