Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE), paid an official visit to the Home of Sappers in Mattegoda on 18 July 2025.
Upon the arrival, he was accorded a ceremonial Guard Turnout followed by a Guard of Honour.
Thereafter, he planted a sapling and posed for a group photograph with All Ranks.
Then, he addressed the Officers and Other Ranks of the Engineer Division, 5 Field Engineer Regiment, 14 CBRNE Regiment and 16 Workshop Regiment. During his address, he outlined his vision and key objectives, emphasizing the importance of unity, operational excellence, and regimental spirit. His inspiring words served as a call for renewed dedication and collective effort towards the continued progress of the Corps.
Following the address, he joined the All Ranks tea.
During the programme, he handed over the keys of a newly modified Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle to the Commanding Officer of the 14 CBRNE Regiment.
In line with the programme, Brigadier H.K.P Karunathilaka RSP, the Overlooking General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division, along with the respective Commanding Officers, delivered comprehensive briefings at the GOC’s office.
These presentations detailed the operational concepts, ongoing deployments, and performance highlights of each establishment.
Concluding the official visit, the Colonel Commandant penned his remarks and commendations in the Visitors’ Books of the Engineer Division, 5 Field Engineer Regiment, 14 CBRNE Regiment, and 16 Workshop Regiment.
