Troops of the 3rd Battalion of the Gemunu Watch supported National Clean Beaches Week by participating in a large-scale beach cleaning effort in Weligama on 15 November 2025. The programme, conducted under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative and the guidance of the Deputy Minister of Energy, Hon. Akram Illayas, focused on clearing waste and debris from the stretch between Weligama Beach and the Kapparathota Bridge.
The effort contributed to preserving water quality, safeguarding marine resources and reducing coastal pollution. The activity was carried out with the participation of government officials, non-governmental organisations, residents and foreign visitors.
