The troops of the 18th Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Air Force, swiftly responded to a bushfire that erupted in Halpe, Imbulpe, Balangoda area on 08 August 2025.
An Air Force team was deployed to the location, providing aerial support with a helicopter to douse the affected area from the air. The operation was conducted under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division and the supervision of the Commander of 572 Infantry Brigade.
