In response to adverse weather condition that affected the country, troops of the 14th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (14 SLSR), under the 242 Infantry Brigade, carried out the restoration of the side embankment of Duuwe Lake on 07 January 2026, following a formal request made by the Irrigation Department.
The troops undertook the restoration work to prevent further damage to the embankment and to mitigate potential flooding in the surrounding areas.
