The Sri Lanka Army launched a two-day cleaning project on 03 and 04 July 2025 across all Army camps, in line with Clean Sri Lanka Programme, under the guidance of the Commander of the Army.
The initiative focused on achieving the programme’s key objectives such as social, attitudinal, and environmental transformation by encouraging troops to enhance cleanliness, orderliness, and positive attitudes in camp environments.
Troops engaged in waste and wastewater management, modernization of waste systems, and controlling breeding grounds of disease-carrying vectors. Emphasis was also placed on instilling the principles of the ‘5S’ concept to foster a more structured and efficient public service in the military framework.
This effort served as a platform for enhancing awareness and strengthening the Army’s commitment to national environmental and social responsibility goals.
