The Inter Regiment Wrestling Championship 2025 was held on 01, 02 and 03 September 2025 at the Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda. More than 120 athletes representing 10 regiments competed in the championship, demonstrating exceptional skill, discipline and sportsmanship.
Major General A.M.C. Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of 54 Infantry Division and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Army Wrestling Committee, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.
At the conclusion of the tournament, the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) emerged as the Men’s Champions with 31 points, while the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) secured the Men’s Runners-Up position with 23.5 points.
In the Women’s category, 3(V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps claimed the Championship with 17 points, while 2(V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps secured the Runners-Up position with 10 points.
Lance Corporal H.P.T.P. Chandrasekara of the Sri Lanka Engineers was adjudged the Best Wrestler of the tournament, while Lance Corporal G.A.G.M. Premarathna of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment received the award for the Best Loser.
