The second Buddhist religious ceremony in a series to bless the forthcoming 76th Army Anniversary (October 10) took place on 28 September 2025 at the Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth) in Kandy. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, attended the blessing ceremony held in the Maligawa premises.
Subsequently, the Army Chief presented a donation to Mr. W.M.G Anura Bandara – Administrative Secretary of Sri Dalada Maligawa on behalf of the Army, for the further development of this most venerated sacred place.
Later, the Army Chief paid a visit to Most Venerable Narampanawe Ananda Thero, the Deputy Chief Prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter, to receive blessings.
Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Principal Staff Officers, Security Forces Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the ceremony.
