Army Chief Hands Over the Role of Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Commander of the Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, officially handed over his responsibilities as the Colonel Commandant to his successor, Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne RSP USP psc, the Commander of Security Force Headquarters (East), on 2 January 2025. The ceremonial handing over was held at the Army Headquarters.

To symbolise the transfer of duties, the Army Chief presented Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne a replica of the baton, signifying the relinquishment of the office. This moment marked the conclusion of the Commander of the Army’s tenure as the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery and the beginning of a new chapter under the leadership of his successor.

Accordingly, Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne RSP USP psc will assume the office as the 24th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery. The Regiment looks forward to his leadership and vision in guiding its future endeavours.
