Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, graced the inauguration ceremony of the ‘Masterminds Competition - 2026’ as the Chief Guest on 23 February 2026 at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF).
Upon arrival, the Commander of the Army was warmly received by Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant of the SLAVF, marking the commencement of the inauguration ceremony.
The Masterminds Competition was initiated under the guidance of the Commander of the Army. The event is designed to enhance the professional knowledge, leadership qualities, positive attitudes, team spirit and communication skills of Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers.
The competition will be conducted under a structured knockout format comprising eight phases until the end of May 2026 at the Headquarters premises, SLAVF, with the participation of all Regular and Volunteer battalions of the Sri Lanka Army.
Symbolising the official inauguration of the ‘Masterminds Competition - 2026’, teams competed in the inaugural round of the competition. At the conclusion of the day’s proceedings, the Commander of the Army awarded certificates of participation, extending his compliments to the winning team on their successful advancement and appreciating the teams that concluded their participation in the first round of the competition.
