Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, addressed the staff of the Army Hospital, Colombo on 30 April 2025.
In line with the Clean Sri Lanka initiative, the Army Chief visited the hospital and addressed the staff to ensure the welfare measures for Army personnel who are serving, retired, disabled, killed in action, and their families are effectively in place.
Upon arrival, the Army Chief was warmly received by Brigadier W.H.U.D. Wijeratne, Officiating Director General of Army Health Services (DGAHS), together with Brigadier D.K.S.S. Dodangoda RSP USP, Director of the Army Hospital, Colombo and other Senior Officers.
Addressing the gathering, the Commander of the Army extended his deep appreciation to the hospital staff, non-medical personnel and civil administrative staff for their unwavering dedication and outstanding service rendered in support of both military personnel and their families. He highlighted the critical importance of maintaining high standards in military healthcare and reaffirmed the Army’s recognition of the vital role played by medical professionals in sustaining force readiness and overall troop welfare.
Furthermore, the Commander of the Army took time to listen attentively to concerns raised by the staff regarding operational and administrative matters. He assured them that steps would be taken to address their issues promptly and efficiently.
Following the address, the Army Chief undertook an inspection of several wards in the hospital premises, interacting with personnel and observing ongoing healthcare procedures.
Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne RSP USP psc, Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army, along with Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks, participated in the event.
