Sri Lanka Army athletes displayed exceptional performances at the 6th Asian Beach Games 2026, which commenced on 22 April and will conclude on 30 April 2026 in Sanya, China. The athletes are participating in the tournament under the supervision of Major General B.G.S. Fernando USP Hdmc psc, Chairman of the Army Athletics Committee.
Army athletes secured several notable achievements during the competition.
Private I.S.W. Arachchi of the 8th Regiment, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps secured 2nd Place in the Long Jump
Craftsman J.S. Miranda of the 2 (V) Regiment, Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers secured 3rd Place in the Long Jump
Lance Corporal D.D.S. Diyalawaththa of the 7th Battalion, Gemunu Watch secured 3rd Place in the Men’s 4 × 60m Relay
Lance Corporal N.M.P.P. Silva of the 1st Regiment, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps secured 3rd Place in the Men’s 4 × 60m Relay
Private W.M.K. Thamel of the 2 (V) Regiment, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps secured 3rd Place in the Men’s 4 × 60m Relay
