An Advanced Cyber Security Training Programme was successfully conducted by the Indian Army Mobile Training Team from 5 May to 3 June 2025 at the Ranaviru Information Technology Training Institute (RITTI), Panagoda. The initiative aimed to enhance the cyber defence capabilities of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces by providing in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of contemporary cyber security practices.
The programme was coordinated by the Office of the Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army, under the guidance of the Chief Signal Officer and the direction of the Commander of the Army, in collaboration with the Defence Cyber Command, Ministry of Defence.
This initiative, stemming from the 9th India–Sri Lanka Army-to-Army Staff Talks, further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation. A total of 34 personnel from the Defence Cyber Command, Ministry of Defence, and the tri-services participated in the training.
The programme concluded with a certificate awarding ceremony, graced by the Director of Defence Cyber Command and the Commander of 2 Signal Brigade.
