A fire broke out at a small plastic factory near the Wadakada Muslim Mosque in Pothuhera, Kurunegala, on 19 July 2025 due to an electrical short circuit.
Troops of the 9th Sri Lanka National Guard along with Municipal Council Fire Brigade, Kurunegala were promptly deployed to contain and extinguish the fire.
