Brigadier Y.K.S. Rangika psc ptsc assumed office as the 17th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES) on 19 January 2026 at Regimental Headquarters, CES.
Upon assuming office, he was accorded a guard turnout, followed by the laying of a wreath as a tribute to the brave fallen war heroes of the corps, and a guard of honour.
The Colonel Commandant then posed for a group photograph with officers of the Corps and planted a mango sapling to commemorate the occasion. In his address to all ranks, he shared his command philosophy, emphasising the career progression of officers as a cornerstone of the Regimental mission.
The formalities concluded with a tea reception, followed by lunch with all officers at the Regimental Officers’ Mess.
