The 4th Board of Management (BOM) of the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) was successfully convened on 26 February 2026. The session was chaired by Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Army and Chairman of the Board.
Upon arrival, the Chief of Staff was accorded a Drive Pass and thereafter posed for a group photograph at the Headquarters of the SLMA.
He then addressed the Officer Cadets at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium, delivering an inspiring speech on leadership, integrity, professionalism, and mastery of battle procedures in modern operational environments. His message reinforced the essential values required of future Army leaders. He also donated a valuable collection of books to the SLMA Library, further enriching its academic resources.
The formal Board of Management conference followed. Proceedings commenced with a warm welcome by the Commandant, SLMA who highlighted the Academy’s recent progress and future aspirations.
The Board, comprising Major General P.R. Pathiravithana USAWC psc, Director General General Staff, Major General G.D.J.C. Prematilaka USP psc, Director General RCD, Brigadier M.M.T. Bandara USP AUSWC psc, Commandant of SLMA, Colonel W.H.M.C.K. Wijekoon WWV RWP RSP USP idu psc, Colonel Training representing the Director Training, Brigadier M.K.S.S. De Silva, Director Budget & Finance, Brigadier A.P.A.D.D. Dharmakeerthi RWP RSP USP psc ptsc, Director Personnel Administration and Colonel K.S. Maddumage RSP USP USACGSC Isc, Commanding Officer of the Officer Cadet Wing, engaged in comprehensive and forward-looking discussions on training methodologies and curriculum development, proposed amendments to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), administrative and personnel matters as well as logistical and infrastructure enhancements.
These deliberations facilitated constructive professional dialogue and the exchange of strategic insights. Importantly, the conference resulted in the formulation of practical recommendations and actionable decisions for both short-term implementation and long-term institutional advancement.
To mark the significance of the visit, the Commandant presented a special memento to the Chief of Staff at the Officers’ Mess.
