Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Army, made a series of official visits to the under-command establishments of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 15, 18, and 19 February 2026.
The visit commenced at the 7 Field Engineer Regiment, followed by the Plant Engineer Brigade in Kantale. Thereafter, the Chief of Staff proceeded to the Field Engineer Brigade and subsequently visited the 8, 9, 10 and 11 Field Engineer Regiments. At each establishment, he was accorded a ceremonial Drive Pass.
Addressing Officers and Other Ranks, he emphasised the evolving responsibilities of the Sappers, highlighting technical excellence, disciplined leadership, cohesion and integrity as essential for success. He encouraged continuous professional development, exemplary conduct and personal resilience to build a dependable and capable force prepared to meet future operational challenges.
He subsequently commended the exemplary service rendered by the Sappers during the recent Ditwah Cyclone. At each establishment, he posed for group photographs, signed the Visitors’ Book, and participated in the All Ranks tea.
