The newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Mr. Priyantha Weerasooriya, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, on 12 September 2025 at the Army Headquarters.
Upon the arrival, in accordance with military traditions, a ceremonial Guard Turnout was presented to the visiting Inspector General of Police.Then, he was welcomed by Major General K.T.P. De Silva RSP ndu psc, the Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army, before being invited to review the Guard of Honour parade presented by the Sri Lanka Signal Corps.
Afterwards, the Commander of the Army warmly welcomed the visiting Inspector General of Police and introduced all Principal Staff Officers. He then posed for several group photographs.
During the meeting, the Army Chief and the Inspector General of Police recalled the close collaboration between Army and Police personnel in a variety of tasks and responsibilities. Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, the Chief of Staff, also joined the discussion.
At the conclusion of the meeting, they exchanged mementoes to mark the significance of the day’s event. Afterwards, the Inspector General of Police penned complimentary remarks in the Visitors’ Book before leaving the Commander’s office.
