School of Logistics Hosts Logistics Symposium 2025

The Army School of Logistics (ASL) organised its annual Logistics Symposium 2025 under the theme “Potentiality of Trincomalee as a future logistic hub: potentiality, adaptability, sustainability, optimum utilization and challenges” at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), Ratmalana, on 10 September 2025.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, attended the event as the Chief Guest. The symposium commenced with an inauguration session that featured cultural performances, followed by the screening of an introductory video on the symposium.

Brigadier R.T. Lokuthotahewa USP psc, Commandant of ASL, delivered the welcome address, after which the Commander of the Army addressed the gathering. Dr. Sanath Divakara DBA MEng MBA BEng AMIE (SL) MISMM, delivered the keynote address, marking the formal beginning of the proceedings. The symposium was conducted in two sessions, focusing on:

* Sustainable Supply Chain Strategies for Natural Resource-Based Industries in Trincomalee: Enhancing Efficiency and Environmental Responsibility.

* Effective Utilization of Military Potential for Exploring Avenues in the Tourism Industry in Trincomalee District to Contribute to the National Economy.

The event was conducted under the objectives of examining Trincomalee’s potentiality as a Logistics hub, promoting Sustainable Supply Chain practices, exploring military contribution to National development, encouraging Academic and Professional Collaboration and fostering innovation and Knowledge sharing.

As part of the event, the Logistics Journal 2025 was officially launched. Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff, Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Deputy Chief of Staff, Senior Officers, and Members of ASL were among the participants at the symposium.
