The National Tug of War Championship 2026 was successfully held on 25 January 2026 at the Salgadu Grounds in Anuradhapura. The championship was conducted by the Sri Lanka Tug of War Federation with the participation of athletes representing 28 tug of war sport clubs.
The Sri Lanka Army emerged as the overall champions of the tournament, delivering an outstanding performance and securing four gold medals.
The Sri Lanka Army participated in the event under the guidance of Major General B.G.S. Fernando USP Hdmc psc, President of the Sri Lanka Army Athletics Committee.
