Staff Sergeant R. Nadeesha of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, the renowned 400m National Champion, has been selected to represent Sri Lanka at the IAAF World Athletics Championship, scheduled to be held in Tokyo, Japan, from 13 to 21 September 2025. She is the only Sri Lankan female athlete to qualify for this prestigious global event.
Meanwhile, Corporal R.A.S.J. Ranasinghe of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers has also qualified to compete in the Men’s Javelin Throw at the same championship.
