Exercise Shake Hand II Concludes Successfully in Pakistan

Exercise Shake Hand II, which commenced on 27 April 2026, concluded on 07 May 2026 with a final demonstration held at the Special Operations School, Tarbela, in Pakistan, marking another significant milestone in strengthening bilateral military cooperation between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Throughout the training period, participating contingents were exposed to a wide range of combat-oriented scenarios designed to improve interoperability and combat effectiveness in complex operational environments. Key training modules included Counter Insurgency Tactics, Close Quarter Battle (CQB) training, Fighting in Built-Up Areas (FIBUA) and Helicopter Rappelling.

The event was witnessed by distinguished guests, including Major General A.M.A. Abeywardana WWV RWP RSP ndc, Colonel of the Regiment of Gemunu Watch and Brigadier M.J. Ubeysekera RSP psc, Director Infantry. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of both countries also participated in the event.
