Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, participated in a special Iftar ceremony held at Grand Maitland, Colombo 07, on 11 March 2026. The ceremony marked the customary observance of Iftar during the sacred month of Ramadan.
The event was organised by the Sri Lanka Army Muslim Association under the chairmanship of Major General M. R. Razick RSP ndu.
Major General Y. A. B. M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, and Major General K.V. N. P. Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), along with Principal Staff Officers, Defence Attachés and Advisers, international student Officers of the National Defence College, and Officers and Other Ranks from the Navy and Air Force, as well as All Ranks representing all regiments, participated in the event.
